Program Director – Camp Alexander Summer Program
Camp Alexander Inc, Emporia, KS, Board of Directors is seeking a motivated and experienced Program Director to oversee the planning, execution, and supervision of its school-aged summer camp program.

The Program Director will be responsible for staff recruitment and training, developing high-quality youth programming, maintaining safety and compliance standards, and building strong relationships with the community. This position will include part-time employment January through mid-May and full time employment during the 9 weeks of summer camp.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, social services, recreation, or related field
  • Experience supervising staff and working with diverse populations
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills

Camp Counselor – Camp Alexander Summer Program – 2026 Season

We are seeking enthusiastic and responsible Summer Camp Counselors to work with children ages 6 – 14. Counselors lead activities, supervise campers, and help create a fun, safe, and memorable summer camp experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and engage campers in indoor and outdoor activities
  • Lead games, crafts, sports, swimming, fishing, shooting sports, and canoeing
  • Ensure camper safety and well-being at all times
  • Model positive behavior, teamwork, and leadership
  • Follow camp policies, schedules, and safety procedures
  • Communicate camper needs or concerns to camp leadership

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required
  • Experience working with children preferred
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Positive attitude and ability to manage groups of children
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Lifeguard or shooting sports experience a plus, not required

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to participate in active outdoor games and activities

Schedule

  • Seasonal summer position (May 26–July 31, 2026; closed week of June 29)
  • Hours may vary, potentially up to 40 hours/week
  • Camp hours: 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday–Friday
